India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs to become the first team ever to win back-to-back World T20 titles. Suryakumar Yadav-led outfit broke more records, as they became the first team to win the T20 World Cup at home.
Having lost the toss, India were put into bat by New Zealand. The Indian openers put on a show and dominated from the first over, scoring a mammoth 92 in the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma scored his first fifty of the campaign before he was dismissed for 52 runs of 21 balls.
