Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/come-early-go-early-relaxation-for-women-govt-employees-in-mumbai-metropolitan-region-maharashtra-dy-cm-sunetra-pawar-23620201?button=next" rel="nofollow">Sunetra Ajit Pawar</a> on Wednesday paid tribute to Yashwantrao Chavan on his 113th birth anniversary.
Sunetra Pawar visited Yashwantrao Chavan&rsquo;s memorial in Karad and offered floral respects.
The Deputy Chief Minister visited the samadhi at Preeti Sangam, where the confluence of the Krishna and Koyna rivers is located and where Chavan&rsquo;s memorial stands. She paid homage at the site and remembered his contribution to the formation and development of modern Maharashtra.
Along with Sunetra Pawar, several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion, including Santosh Patil, Yashni Nagarajan, Tushar Doshi and former MLA Balasaheb Patil. Furthermore, officers from various government departments, along with school students, also attended the tribute ceremony at Satara.&nbsp;
Speaking on the occasion, Pawar said that the memorial of Chavan has always been a source of inspiration and strength. She noted that Ajit Pawar frequently visited the site and drew inspiration from Chavan&rsquo;s ideals and leadership.
The Deputy CM asserted, &ldquo;The samadhi of the late Yashwantrao Chavan has always been a place of faith and strength. Ajit Pawar used to visit here regularly and worked on the ideals laid down by him. After taking an oath as Deputy Chief Minister, I had paid respects at the memorial on February 2, and today I have come again on his birth anniversary.&rdquo;
She further added that she would continue to work guided by Chavan&rsquo;s thoughts.
Later in the day, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/ajit-pawar-death-maharashtra-deputy-cm-sunetra-pawar-urges-patience-says-final-report-must-be-awaited-23619779" rel="nofollow">Sunetra Pawar</a> also attended a special programme, &ldquo;Shabd Suranchi Bhavpurna Adaranjali&rdquo;, organised to mark Chavan&rsquo;s birth anniversary.&nbsp;
<h2>Sunetra Pawar announces relaxation for women govt employees in Mumbai</h2>
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar on Tuesday announced a &ldquo;Come Early&ndash;Go Early&rdquo; relaxation for women government employees working in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, aimed at easing commuting difficulties during peak hours.
Replying to a special discussion in the Maharashtra Legislative Council held on the occasion of International Women's Day, Pawar said the state government remains committed to the overall development of women and called for renewed efforts to build a society that ensures respect, equal opportunities and safety for women.
<h2>&lsquo;Come Early&ndash;Go Early&rsquo; facility for women employees</h2>
Explaining the decision, Pawar said women government employees in the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/come-early-go-early-relaxation-for-women-govt-employees-in-mumbai-metropolitan-region-maharashtra-dy-cm-sunetra-pawar-23620201" rel="nofollow">Mumbai Metropolitan Regi</a>on will be allowed to report to work between 9:15 am and 9:45 am.
If employees begin work earlier within this window, they will be permitted to leave the office earlier by the same number of minutes in the evening, allowing a relaxation of up to 30 minutes.
She said the initiative is expected to reduce inconvenience faced by women during peak-hour travel and provide relief to those commuting long distances.
