Aslam Shaikh, MLA from Malad West, halted the ongoing land survey for the Dharavi redevelopment project in Aksa village, Malad West, by involving the local residents and leading the protest. In a bold move, Sheikh also challenged BJP leader Ashish Shelar to allow Dharavi residents to settle in Bandra, questioning the sincerity of the opposition`s stance on the issue.
