After four long years, Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), which spans 106.95 sq. km in the heart of Mumbai, is set to revive a timeless treasure—the iconic Mini Toy Train, fondly known as “Van Rani” (Queen of the Jungle).

Established in 1974 and a cherished memory for generations, the Mini Train has brought joy to countless children and nature lovers over the past 50 years.

The toy train, which once carried thousands of smiling children and nature lovers on a scenic route through the park, was forced to shut down in 2021 after Cyclone Tauktae caused severe damage to the tracks and infrastructure. Now, the heritage ride is being restored and reimagined with fresh upgrades and renewed energy.
