A fire broke out in a Shivshahi State Transport bus on Dr BA Road, opposite Matunga Police Station in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mid-day-exclusive-once-complete-new-elphinstone-bridge-will-connect-sea-link-coastal-road-and-eastern-freeway-23601880" rel="nofollow">Mumbai</a>, on Saturday evening.
According to officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident was reported at around 6 pm, and the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/photo/in-photos-fire-breaks-out-near-bmc-office-in-mumbais-chira-bazar-108137" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">fire </a>was brought under control by 6.36 pm.
Around 30 to 40 passengers were safely evacuated from the vehicle, and no injuries were reported, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-mcdonalds-kitchen-at-mall-in-dadar-fire-fighting-underway-23602142?de-breakingnews" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">MFB </a>said.
The blaze was confined to the bus, and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
