<p>The fifth edition of Mumbai Happenings, a dynamic session on the Right to Services Act&rsquo; (RTS) Act hosted by Mumbai First, will empower people about their rights under the RTS Act, teach you how to access government services online via the Aaple Sarkar portal and engage with top bureaucrats and experts. The experts telling you about how to leverage this powerful tool include Manu Kumar Srivastav, Baldev Singh, Dilip Shinde, all IAS (retired) who will be in a panel discussion, followed by a Q &amp; A moderated by Sanjay Ubale. This will take place on May 14 from 4 pm to 6.30 pm at the MMRDA Auditorium, BKC. <p>Mumbai&rsquo;s adventure sport addas are not only for its young and brave. City-based skater Tulika Naag gave the Borivli Skatepark a sight to behold when she rolled through the park with her mother. As the Mother&rsquo;s Day (May 11) shenanigans continue to receive applause on social media, Naag revealed to us, &ldquo;It was an impulsive decision. My mother was a tad hesitant as she suffers from a back ailment. But once she learned the ropes, she was a force to be reckoned with. She even learnt a few tricks.&rdquo; As they say: like daughter, like mother.</p>

<p>Inclusivity took a glamorous turn at a ramp walk in Andheri last week when lehenga and sherwani-clad models took centrestage. Organised by mother-daughter duo Tanya and Beena Malji, the event witnessed 61 models, including those with intellectual and physical disabilities turn show stoppers. &ldquo;If you don&rsquo;t look a certain way, people will be quick to write you off. But the ramp doesn&rsquo;t discriminate,&rdquo; Beena told us. Those keen to join the group can reach out to @ tcj_beennamalje7.</p>

<p>Stories of late bodybuilder Manohar Aich aka &lsquo;pocket Hercules&rsquo; or Mr Universe 1955, aren&rsquo;t rare to come by. But recently, Mumbai got a peek into a lesser-known facet of Aich&rsquo;s life at a screening of A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, a film directed by Prateek Vats.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The film follows the twilight years of the legendary athlete&rsquo;s life. We changed our initial approach when we realised that Aich, who was 101 years old at the time of filming, had faint memories of his illustrious career. It then became an exploration of life, ageing, memory and legacy,&rdquo; Vats told this diarist. &nbsp;The FTII alumnus is now on the lookout for more venues in the city to screen the bittersweet tale.</p>
<h2>Keen to ace Konkani?</h2>

<p>Mumbaikars keen to learn Konkani but unsure where to begin, have some good news coming their way. Abhinav Creationz, founded by Margao-based Anwesha Singbal (below), will commence online Konkani language classes today (May 13). Concluding on June 7, the online sessions will be guided by Govind Mopkar, a mentor and language coach. A translator and writer, Singbal started the online courses during the COVID-19 lockdown. &ldquo;I have been associated with the language for a long time, and worked for different organisations. I used to get a lot of requests from people who were travelling to Goa. The course will teach participants grammar and sentence structure,&rdquo; she told this diarist.
