A 35-year-old man narrowly escaped after a container serving as <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-electric-shop-in-dhobi-talao-23334297" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">temporary accommodation</a> for him caught fire in the early hours of Friday in Maharashtra's Thane city, an official said, reported news agency PTI.

But six goats kept inside the container were killed in the incident that took place around 2 am in the Retibunder area near the '<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-fire-breaks-out-at-28th-floor-of-under-construction-building-in-navi-mumbai-none-hurt-23333755" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Ganesh Visarjan Ghat</a>', reported PTI.
The fire also damaged three commercial gas cylinders, generators, some equipment and a motorbike, the official said, reported PTI.

One Nirmal Mahato who was fast asleep inside the container managed to escape, he said, reported PTI.
Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell at the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/navi-mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-city-based-high-rise-no-injuries-reported-23333707" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane Municipal Corporation</a> (TMC), said firefighters reached the spot and put out the fire, whose cause is yet to be determined, reported PTI.

In another incident, a fire broke out in an electric shop in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-in-kamathipura-no-injuries-reported-23333718" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Dhobi Talao</a>, Mumbai, on Friday, reported ANI.
According to the Fire Service Department, three fire tenders reached the spot to douse the fire.
There has been no report of any casualty in the incident till now, said the Fire Service Department, reported ANI.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, a massive fire broke out in street number 3 of Kamathipur area in Grant Road, reported news agency ANI.&nbsp;
The fire broke out on the second floor of a building. Five fire engines have reached the spot and fire fighting operations are underway. No one has been reported injured in the fire incident yet, Mumbai Fire Department said, reported ANI.
On Monday night, a fire broke out on the 27th floor of a Navi Mumbai high rise. The officials further stated that no injuries or casualties have been reported until now. According to the report, the incident occurred in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area, reported ANI.
The ANI report stated that due to the fire department's prompt response to the distress call, the fire tenders reached the spot on time and currently efforts are underway to douse the fire, reported ANI.
