A group of activists from Chhava Sanghatna allegedly attempted to set fire to the Nationalist Congress Party's (NCP) office in Jalna late on Sunday night, just hours after a violent confrontation between NCP workers and Chhava Sanghatna activists in Latur, reported PTI.
The police have filed a case against five activists of Chhava Sanghatna for the arson attempt, an official said.
According to officials, the activists arrived at the NCP office around 11 pm carrying a bottle of petrol, which they poured on the office shutter before setting it ablaze. However, the fire was quickly extinguished by NCP staff members who were present at the office, preventing further damage.
