Ahead of World Music Day on June 21, singer <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/bollywood-news/article/world-music-day-jonita-gandhi-shilpa-rao-armaan-and-amaal-malik-among-30-music-stars-at-special-concert-23177835" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shilpa Rao</a> urges the youngistan to learn Indian classical music, listen to it and try and most importantly own it proudly.
Shilpa, who is the captain of Mumbai Warriors on Zee TV&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/television-news/article/shilpa-rao-we-are-all-singers-this-tag-of-female-singers-shouldnt-exist-23162687" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Pro Music League</a>, says, &ldquo;Music is something that doesn&rsquo;t need a day for celebration because it&rsquo;s celebrated every day. To be honest, music is an integral part of my life, something that I can&rsquo;t express in words, but it is something that makes me happy."
The singer, who rose to fame with 'Khuda Jaane' song from 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' (2008), has a special message to the youth of the country, on World Music Day. She says, "On this day, I would really like to say something important. Since our nation&rsquo;s soul is in classical music, I would really urge the youth of India to learn Indian Classical Music and to listen to it closely and try performing to it. But more importantly own it proudly. We have such a rich heritage of music and we should make a mark on the world. If our youth can take our music to the world stage, that will be our biggest win in terms of creativity just like our very own Zakir Hussain sir did. That&rsquo;s where I would want to see our youth one day. Here&rsquo;s wishing everyone celebrates and promotes our classical music on this World Music Day.&rdquo;

Shilpa Rao, Shreya Ghoshal and Armaan Malik are among 30 musicians who will unite to celebrate World Music Day with a special concert on June 21. Hosted by Jonita Gandhi, the Lift Up concert will see artistes sharing their love for music, performing their favourite songs, and even sharing anecdotes on how 'that one song' acted as a catalyst for healing and helped them lift up their spirits during the pandemic.
Others performing at the concerts include Amaal Mallik, Rochak Kohli, Tulsi Kumar, Shalmali, Sona Mohapatra, Shaan, Sachin-Jigar, Salim-Sulaiman, Arjun Kanungo, Akasa, Raftaar, Asees Kaur, Harshdeep Kaur, Vishal Mishra, Nikhita Gandhi, Shashwat Singh, Anusha Mani, Sangeet Haldipur, Sashaa Tirupati, Jubin Nautiyal, Payal Dev, Stebin Ben, Raghav Meattle, Avanti Nagral, L-Fresh The Lion, Kamakshi Khanna, amongst others.
