The Hindi remake of the Tamil film Saamy has him play a roughneck cop. He combines both the bad cop-good cop act with a bit of a comic touch his character prefers to tuck into idlis along with a peg. <img alt="Sanjay Dutt" src="http://www.mid-day.com/imagedata/2012/jun/Sanjay-Dutt_2.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 458px; " /> The star begins shooting for the film from August 20. The makers are having a 52-day schedule in Hyderabad where a special set is being erected. The film is directed by K S Ravikumar and marks the Tamil director&rsquo;s Bollywood debut. Ravikumar had earlier directed the Kamal Haasan starrer Dasavathaaram. Producer T P Aggarwal who is currently in Chennai for the pre-production says, &ldquo;Sanjay Dutt considers this project very close to his heart. He will be seen in a new avatar as a cop. His character is loud and riotous.&rdquo; The original Saamy had released in 2003 and starred Vikram and Trisha. It was a box office success.
