No, don&rsquo;t expect this to be anywhere close to the dhamaka that happened when the director of this film, Abhinav Kashyap met Salman Khan for his first film, &#39;Dabangg&#39;. This film by Kashyap is more like a whimper that sometimes follows an explosion of a firecracker. <img alt="'Besharam' movie review" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Besharam.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 647px;" /> &#39;Besharam&#39;u00a0 Ranbir Kapoor plays Babli, the besharam, who has resorted to car theft because of his &lsquo;grown up in an orphanage&rsquo; sad background. He falls in love with a grumpy girl Tara Sharma (Pallavi Sharda) and gets into the clutches of an evil man (Jaaved Jafferi) in that order. As you see Tara, who comes from a modest Old Delhi home and is the daughter of a dead clerk, can afford to buy a Mercedes just to show off at a friend&rsquo;s wedding. But oh yes, while she is not at home, she is in her swanky cabin in shiny clothes working as&hellip; ummm&hellip; never mind. Heroine&rsquo;s profession is seldom thought to be important enough to be discussed. And yes, as even a five-year-old might have guessed by now. Babli steals her shiny red car without knowing it&rsquo;s hers and now he has to steal it back from the villain to prove his love. In come a Haryanvi cop Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and his greedy wife (Neetu Kapoor). And with them comes a whole array of &lsquo;squirm-in-the-seat&rsquo; kind of toilet humour. The charming and brilliant Rishi Kapoor definitely deserves much more than being caught with his chaddis down and cracking on the pot jokes in this shame of a movie. His brilliance as an actor and comic timing however manages to peek through in quite a few scenes, one of them being where he hilariously spoofs Sunny Deol. Pallavi Sharda neither looks nor behaves like she belongs to this Haryana-Delhi set-up. Armed with two expressions, one a scoff and another a deeper scoff, she is no asset to the film. Jaaved Jafferi is so stiff as if he cannot himself believe that he is being made to spout dialogues like, &lsquo;Do haath se taaliyan baj rahi hoti toh moonh nahi lagana chahiye&rsquo; Did you say huh? Exactly. By now we all know that Ranbir Kapoor is an immensely talented boy. Even though his talent is unquestionable, and even showing off the crack of his butt won&rsquo;t let us ignore his poor choice of a movie. I give half a star for Neetu Singh. Still a delight on screen, this actress deserves far better. In fact, the Kapoor couple are the &lsquo;Jhansi ki Rani&rsquo; and &lsquo;Tatya Tope&rsquo; of their acting field, only if they chose their battle more wisely. We hope to see this couple again in a movie with the kind of class that they deserve.u00a0
